Importance of radiation safety in industrial NDT
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a critical engineering method used to detect internal defects in materials without damaging their structure. Industrial X-Ray and Gamma Ray equipment used in this process operate at much higher energy levels (kV and MeV values) compared to medical devices.
These high energy levels pose severe radiation exposure risks for NDT operators and other workers on site. It is a regulatory requirement to use shielding equipment with appropriate thickness and performance.
Shielding equipment used in NDT environments
